My Favorite Things

I have made a landscape. It is built with pieces of wood like Popsicle sticks. It is a landscape of mountains, stretching from the hall on a green carpet which we have covered the ground. It is an interior landscape.
Light invites meditation and listening to some music that J. M. Baldomà adapts free-form from the theme that gives its title to the exhibition: My Favorite Things. Lovers of music, especially musicals, know what it is.
We can get closer, then, with a contemplative mood, as if from looking out from a privileged vantage point. Our movement reveals new perspectives. And mixed with the thoughts, the reliefs, the slopes and peaks that become symbols or metaphors.
With the strength that gives unconscious will, I have made a desire to build mountains come true. I have put as a creative premise conditions that are a consequence of working at home, a small space to share with family. In this domestic work environment I had to adopt a technique that could be reconciled with family life. A technique of low-level conflict. The “sticks” technique with its apparent simplicity and humility to make a three-dimensional drawing is also a way to create prefabricated parts. Independent parts are mounted directly on the installation. The conditions set out, therefore, principles of production and design. Thus I have come down to earth and mix with the unconscious reality. The desire by the possibilities, while pursuing my favorite things.

"Peces i coses dipositades sobre una atmosfera que perfilen produccions diversificades: la imatge de l’acció, la disposició i l’emplaçament de les peces com un déjeuner sur l’herbe que va donant pas a un dessiner sur l’herbe on el passant esdevé protagonista; amb una remor de fons, motivada per la música de Baldomà, a la qual cadascú hi pot posar els seus sons: des del tac cibernètic de la música electrònica, als baixos de John Coltrane, a les fugues de Vanessa-Mae, als tic-tac de Pascal Comelade... I aquest és l’art coreogràfic i cinematogràfic que fa explosió amb la complicitat de la mirada dins del microcosmos generat per l’acció de l’artista."

"II. “Piano Solo Between Peaks of Colors”
The second piece, the longest, which is a piano improvisation I have done on the same subject as the title of the exhibition aims to invite calm reflection, the contemplation of the landscapes of Carles... Although piano improvisation travels through the structure of the song of the hit American musical about the Trapp family, the melody is never clear, but instead the core narrative of the original composition. I like it for its nudity, its silences, its spaces, and its ability to evoke. My main instrument as a performer has always been the piano, which I feel more able to fit in with the most sincere and profound communication territories."
